Health Concerns & Yoga Course

Morgan Palmer has been helping Yogalinda with their teacher training programs for years. All the graduating students love Morgan’s different spinal movement approach to yoga. Morgan has extensive experience with having a health back and spine as he is happily living with Scoliosis. We want to bring Morgans teaching to not just our teacher training students but to everyone in the Yogalinda community.

This course is run a little different than most courses. We are asking you as the participant to help us create the topics to be discussed on Sunday. On Saturday we will cover a Healthy Back & Spine. But on Sunday what do you want to know about? Do you have bad knees and need more accessible yoga poses to protect your knees? Or perhaps you are recuperating from cancer treatment or just want to know how to teach that one student in your class that has limited mobility? This is where you decide and we will answer and cover as much as we can on Sunday to answer all your questions.

Below is the schedule of both Saturday & Sunday

SATURDAY 7th APRIL – YOGA FOR A HEALTHY HAPPY BACK & SPINE

9:00 – 11:00h Morning asana/vinyasa practice focusing on spinal & active movements

11:30 – 13:00h Introduction to principles of therapeutic yoga

14:00 – 16:00h Understanding the spine: disc health, scoliosis, tensegrity, the roles of the diaphragm and psoas muscle

16:30 – 18:00h Gentler practice exploring deeper breath/movement linking, exploring how to adjust dynamic practice to our needs

 

SUNDAY 8th APRIL – FINDING YOUR YOGA: IMPROVING PERSONAL PRACTICE

Addressing Injuries & health concerns

9:00 – 11:00h Morning asana/vinyasa practice focusing on smoother, spiral and wave movement forms

11:30 – 13:00h Addressing personal health concerns: how to develop our personal yoga practice to meet our needs, basic principles of home practice or teaching students with specific injuries or health concerns

(looking at the topics raised in the form participants fill out before they join the course)

14:00 – 16:00h Continuation for personal health concerns (introducing principles of alignment, postural alignment, bandha etc and building upon topics from Saturday)

16:30 – 18:00h Back to the source: gentler practice incorporating deep rest

Price before Feb 28th Price: 195€

Price After March 1st: 220€

16h YACEP certified course.

This course is a continual education course. If you are registered for the Yoga Alliance you are required to complete 30h of continual education every 3 years. This will give you the 10 contact hours you need for your certification. We will be holding other courses in 2018 at Yogalinda that will provide you with the final 20 hours you will need to get the full 30h complete.
